Perceptions....

A reporter of my Belgian newspaper on the internet picked up that the BBC had referred to the fact that , during the UK elections yesterday in some polling stations people were send away as the station closed, as "third world country situations"....
So, there you have it. That's how we get branded as a continent because the world has seen many times over that free and fair democratic elections are a rare thing on the here (and other 3rd world parts of the world...). So lets make sure we get it right in 2012. Lets do all we can to get it right. Let's have elections like in the UK, with debates (boring as they can be...;-) , a swift count and release of numbers thanks to technology . Lets make sure all the registered voters can vote also. Even the late voters. So that we can move onto 2017 without holding a grudge. Without ICC involvement. Such is my prayer. So that we can get the respect we deserve. As we are good people too....f*ck the BBC ! We can. Yes we can.
