God is cruel.....

I was sitting there on Saturday, during the long wedding church ceremony. Getting burned by the sun. And listening to what the priest was saying about how God planned it all for us. How there is a bigger scheme. How we should behave as husband and wife. How we have to go and breed. And so forth. As if there was a long term plan. As long as we behave it would all be fine. Thats how the sermon sounded.Then my mind wandered back just 24hrs. The day before at about the same time I left another church service. A requiem mass. A funeral. The deceased was barely 13 years old. It was a sad day. The priest in that church reminded us many times that such is our destiny. That we only know one thing for sure in this life. And that is that we will die. And that is true. All the other things we can hope for, try to plan for, work for, save for. But in the end all of those hopes, dreams and big plans can come to an abrupt end. One day. And we don't know that day. That is the cruel part. Life is cruel. God is cruel. That is what I thought on that Friday. In that church. Living that tragedy with the family that was struck with such misfortune. Looking at that young corpse in school uniform. No marriage for this young man. No long term plan. Cruel.
