Friday promisses....and lies

Am sure you know the feeling. That Friday, approaching lunchtime, feeling.

Not a lot has been planned for the afternoon as plans for the evening and the weekend are being made and....altered. And changed again. Influenced by others, the wheather, the price of petrol and the money in the wallet. Or at least the money we can afford to spend on fun.



Happens to all of us, all the time.



What seemed like a great idea yesterday can look boring today as time goes by. Or as that time approaches. Or as we get to know who else will be there.

And when we change the plan we lie. To a friend. To a colleague. To make the change not too hurtfull. To announce our new priority in a deceitfull way.



So what will it be this evening ?
Movies, a drink with pals, dinner ? Or just TV at home. Or all of that ?



And Saturday ? Any errands to run ? Work to be caught up ? Calls to make to those that returned late to work in 2010 and that need an update ?
And Sunday. That's too far off. Let's focus on this afternoon and this evening....



I will settle for late lunch or call it early dinner in a nice place in Westlands, Nairobi, Kenya. With her. Then we stop at gypsy's. One of our favorite local fountains.

To meet friends and watch the crowd go wild.

Come to think of it. I might go wild myself....for the first time in 2010.

And ....that is a promisse, not a lie ;-)
