Those amongst us that are attracted to their own sex remain exposed to fingerpointing, gossip , outcasting and keep on being the topic of many heated discussions.Mainly with a negative undertone....
Today I read two interesting things about gay-ness (if that word exists...) and gay people. On a very popular social network site (Facebook not to name it)
First there was an observation that gay people can also be poor. Which as far as the person who made the observation was surprising. As gay people were thought off as being upperclass. Probably because that image comes with a fashionista way of dressing ?
The second was a comment that gay-ness came with colonialism. Just like the catholic church and many other good things in life probably.
You did not ask for my opinion but I am giving it any way : get over it people !
Its always been around. And its there to stay. All over the world. And in Africa. In Kenya. In Nairobi, Nyeri, Kiambu....Its not related to race at all.
Its a human nature kinda thing : some of us like their own gender.
Therefore. Sit back. Relax. Focus on real issues like the new constitution. And post-election violence. And impunity. And corruption. And global warming. And the prize of maize.
And......live and let live !
