Its about time I get a few hours to relax. The last few days have been hectic and this evening I am packing my bags for a short business trip. Am off to meet business partners in South Africa. But I will definitely take the opportunity to check on the world cup readiness of SA. I expect to find massive roadworks everywhere...as our friends from down under are scrambling to get all infrastructure ready for the influx of international visitors. My personal view : would have been nice if the African continent would have been the host of the cup. Rather than just South Africa. With pre-qualifiers in Lagos, Nairobi, Kinshasa and other capitals. That way we would all have enjoyed a boost in real estate development, roads infrastructure, hotel business and so forth. There would have been more business for regional airlines also. We would also have enjoyed more awareness about Africa. Our friends from the US of A would stop asking what the capital of Africa is. Or whether we speak "african"....As a lot of them see us as one undivided nation. An opportunity missed....so maybe next time. In 2090 ;-)
