Aaaaaarggggghhhhh ! 3 hours in my car this morning for a 10 minute meeting (and not even a good meeting) with a client who's offices are 5km's away from mine !
And we thought it was the matatu's that cause traffic jams. Now they are on strike and the traffic jam is worse. Nothing is certain in this world of today.
So, what is the cause of this bumper-to-bumper energy wastage then? The lack of proper roads infrastructure ? Or the fact that all car owners decided to run a bus service today, flooding the roads with too many vehicles ? Car pooling at a cost....a very high cost.
Days like these are costing this already hard-hit economy a fortune. Workers cannot get to work. Those that do are not productive because of the painfull journey. Meetings get postponed. Decisions delayed. Business transactions cancelled.
And our biggest problem is : do we really understand what is at stake ? Do we get to see the bigger picture ? Who is striking and for what goal ? Who wants to achieve what here ? What powerplay is at the source of this ?
